Arizona lawmakers are advancing #HCR2060, a strike everything amendment related to border security that would appear on Arizona voters' ballots this November. The measure would support a significant increase in immigration enforcement activities. Unlike similar measures in other states, it would permit enforcement of the law in schools. Join us to decrease chronic absenteeism in schools – contact your Senators and Representatives and urge them to oppose HCR 2060. One of our advocacy priorities at Education Forward Arizona is quality early learning and childcare. Why? Children with access to quality early learning opportunities have increased vocabulary, better language, math and social skills, and more positive relationships with classmates. This week, join the Early Care and Education Consortium & the Arizona Early Childhood Alliance in advocating to the legislature for a $100 million investment in this year’s budget for child care for working families. Our state’s economy and future workforce depends on it – fill out this quick form to write your legislators: https://lnkd.in/g-aCqJ6c #ADayWithoutChildCare

The alignment between the Arizona Voters’ Agenda education findings and our recent #EverythingToGain poll is truly remarkable. It's clear that Arizona voters overwhelmingly prioritize education, believing that every child deserves access to quality education, regardless of background. The recognition of the need to increase funding for K-12 public education underscores the importance of investing in our children's future. Education Forward Arizona remains committed to this cause, and it's heartening to see such widespread support among voters. Additionally, the acknowledgment of the value of postsecondary education and training is vital for Arizona's long-term success. The support for initiatives like dual enrollment and increasing need-based financial aid reflects a dedication to ensuring that all students have the opportunity to pursue higher education. A huge thank you to the Center for the Future of Arizona for providing invaluable insights into the desires and priorities of Arizonans regarding education. With such strong consensus and support, we have the potential to enact positive change in our state's educational landscape. Let's continue working together towards a brighter future for all Arizona students!
Arizona voters want quality education for every child. The 2024 Arizona Voters’ Agenda shows Arizona voters are concerned about education, naming it one of the state's top three issues. “The level of support for education is consistent with CFA’s research conducted over many years. In 2024, we observed an overwhelming agreement on actionable measures that promise genuine improvements, reflecting voters' conviction that quality education is vital for both the present and future,” said Dr. Sybil Francis, CFA Chair, President & CEO, regarding education in Arizona.
