We had a wonderful time joining out partner, Operation Homefront last weekend to serve our military families in Plain City, Utah. Thank you for the work you're doing in our community! https://lnkd.in/g_wgy6nr
New data shows that as many as 1 in 4 active-duty service members experience some level of food insecurity -- a figure that continues to exceed the level of civilian households experiencing the same. Operation Homefront was proud to team up with Kent's Market, Associated Food Stores (AFS) and other partners on Armed Forces Day to host a Holiday Meals for Military® event for 400 local military families in Plain City, UT.🥖🥕🥔🥗 Operation Homefront's Holiday Meals for Military® program provides junior—and mid-grade enlisted families, who are often far from loved ones, with all the grocery items necessary to prepare a traditional family meal. This initiative brings joy and relief to those who selflessly serve our country. This day-long event included workshops in science, technology, engineering and math. One of the ways we've done that is by turning our iconic green Sprite bottle into clear - an easier plastic to recycle. Another example, many of our bottles are now made with 100% recycled plastic (rPET), meaning the bottle can be turned into another bottle again and again.
