Western Technologies is attending the 20th annual ASU Pavement/Materials Conference with other industry leaders. The conference offers opportunities to learn more about leading topics in pavement and materials including research in the southwest environment, integrating environmental sustainability, recycled materials, additives & fibers use, testing for asphalt cracking, deflection testing 101, soil stabilization techniques, and AI in pavement distress. Western Technologies team members will be attending this year's Annual Walter Burg Fall Conference hosted by the AzAA. Our team will get a chance to meet with industry leaders in the airport sector and gain insights into high-level industry issues impacting airports across the spectrum such as inflation, fuel supply chain, PFAS, FAA Re-Authorization, hangar fire suppression, regulatory changes, airline/airport staffing issues, airport capital funding, service levels, and other topics that may evolve as the session gets underway.

Fiber to replace rebar? ASU Civil engineering professor Mobasher was in the news recently giving an in-depth interview on their latest project. Professor Mobasher showed how their structural concrete utilizes fiber in the cement instead of using rebar. The result was completed in half the budgeted time and 30 percent of the normal budgeted cost. Imagine the impact this could have on future construction project timelines and budgets!
